Brann - Rosenborg 3-2 (0-1) Brann stadion Att: 5376 0-1 Erik Hoftun (13) 1-1 Trond Egil Soltvedt (51) 2-1 Erik Johannessen (75) 2-2 Karl-Petter Løken (79) 3-2 Soltvedt (89) Yellow card: Trond Egil Soltvedt, Brann. - The home side got their revenge for the 0-9 drubbing a few weeks ago. As the game itself was of no improtance to both teams (except pride perhaps), the football displayed was not magnificent. Kongsvinger - Viking 1-1 (0-0) Gjemselund Att: 2.558 0-1 Rune Medalen (49) 1-1 Geir Bakke (87) Yellow card: Svein Enersen, Kongsvinger, Rune Medalen, Viking. - The race for the bronze medals is still wide open after the late equalizer by KIL. This was nothing more than the home side deserved after dominating throughout the game. With one round to go, one point is separating these two teams. Viking must be favourites for the medals though, as they play at home against Brann, whereas KIL play away in Hamar. Lillestrøm - Bodø/Glimt 5-0 (3-0) Åråsen Att: 3923 1-0 Arne Sandstø (16) 2-0 Sandstø (25) 3-0 Peter Hedman (40) 4-0 Jan Ove Pedersen (48) 5-0 Ståle Solbakken (pen. 83) Yellow card: Ørjan Berg, Bodø/Glimt, Dennis Schiller, Lillestrøm. - The disasterous season is continuing for the visitors. After 0-6 against Start and 0-2 against Sampdoria, they now lost heavily again. They now face Sogndal in a direct encounter to avoid the last relegation spot. LSK, on the other hand, made sure of European football next season and the silver medals as well by this win. Some consolation after the embarrassing exit in the UEFA cup in midweek. Sogndal - Hamarkameratene 2-1 (0-0) Fosshaugane Att: 1005 0-1 Vegard Skogheim (81) 1-1 Tore André Flo (83) 2-1 Stig Nord (88) Yellow card: Jon Erik Ødegaard, Hamarkameratene, Asle Hillestad, Sogndal. - It all happened in the last ten minutes in this game. First, Ham-Kam took the lead. This result would have almost certainly sent Sogndal down. But the home side came back and both equalised and scored the winner two minutes from time. Sogndal still have to win their last game in Bodø in order to escape relegation, and send B/G down instead. Sorry, all people from Sogn, I don't wish SIL manage that, as I believe B/G are a better side, which play the far more attractive football. We'll all see in two weeks time. Start - Tromsø 3-1 (3-0) Kristiansand stadion Att: 3489 1-0 Tore Løvland (3) 2-0 Steinar Pedersen (36) 3-0 Petter Belsvik (39) 3-1 Sigurd Rushfeldt (85) - Another game of no importance, but still another impressive display from Start. Finally, the pre-season favourites are showing some form. But of course it's all too late. Strømsgodset - VIF Fotball 4-1 (2-0) Marienlyst stadion Att: 2.287 1-0 Per Ivar Fornæs (4) 2-0 Juro Kuvicek (38) 3-0 Kuvicek (53) 3-1 Kenneth Nysæther (57) 4-1 Fornæs (65) Yellow card: Ousman Nyan, Strømsgodset. - I took the short trip to Drammen to watch VIF secure their place in the premier division next season. What a waste of time and money! VIF played their worst game of the season, and clearly underestimated the home side. The Oslo-side played without heart and conviction, and their coach described their attitude as shocking. He further stated that is was the worst game during the two years with him in charge. I fully agree! The only consolation was that the outcome of the other games made 99% certain of premier division fotball next season. The only way VIF can go down is if B/G and Sogndal drew and VIF lose by at least 16 goals at home to Start! Usually unlikely, but perhaps not if VIF show a repeat of the performance against SIF :-( The home side got their first points after 10 consecutive losses. Their last point was also incidentally against VIF...
