Match report ------------ This game was new national team coach Nils Johan Semb's first match in charge for Norway. Unfortunately, it will not go down as a classic in the history books, as friendlies rarely do these days. The scoreline was quite just, as both teams had their chances. For Romania, Moldovan should have scored in the first half from 5 metres, but Grodås made a splendid save. For Norway, Flo had four good chances to score but either shot straight at the keeper, or wide. Of the players, newcomer Heggem at right back showed some spirited offensive play, and proved that Norway could add a new dimension to their play with his inclusion. Elsewhere, Grodås continued to play convincing in goal, whereas for the rest of the players, all worked hard, but the final effort was not put into this game, which perhaps is understandable. Next game for Norway is the EC qualifying game against Latvia at Ullevaal on September 9. Hopefully, both the play, the crowd and the outcome will be better that night.
